Artist’s Statement

Driven to create beauty with my hands and fascinated with the incredible colors in the borosilicate palette, I was drawn into flameworking.

Each time I work in the flame, I choose colors that reflect my emotions at that time and I am reminded of other worlds that exist in my mind. As I work in the flame, the glass seems to dictate where we will go as I focus on its molten texture and my own reflections.

Working with glass has opened my eyes to many of nature’s beauty that I had not noticed before. I strive to learn new techniques through education that will assist me exploring the world of glass.
